Dear Colleagues, I want to wish a good summer to those of you in the northern hemisphere, as many of us look forward to summer holidays – a classic time for travel and mobility! The early-bird deadline of July 15^th for our annual conference is approaching, so I hope you have registered for ‘The Future of Mobilities’ in Caserta, Italy, which our local organizing committee have been hard at work preparing. I just had the pleasure of giving a (remote) Keynote Address at the Sixth New Zealand Mobilities Symposium on “Dangerous Mobilities,” which reminds me of the extensive spread of our transport and mobilities research networks around the world. You may also be aware of a debate that is raging about the Dominican Republic’s denial of citizenship and expulsion of Haitian immigrants and Haitian-Dominicans who have lived their entire lives there, but if not you can find a statement about it and a list of resources here from the Caribbean Studies Association: http://caribbeanstudiesassociation.org/statement-drhaitianissue This week I will be heading to Lancaster University for the “Mobilities Intersections” Workshop, a special event that I have co-organized with Monika Büscher and David Tyfield to develop a 10^th Anniversary Special Issue of the journal Mobilities (see http://www.lancaster.ac.uk/fass/events/mobility-intersections/index.htm). Indeed in honor of the 10^th Anniversary, the Editors are happy to invite you to access a free selection of our favorite articles for a short period of time: And speaking of the journal, we are happy to announce that we have negotiated a special rate for T2M members, which will soon be posted on the website.
